Thanks Sasha, they are somewhat similar, but not identical, so maybe they both can have a place in the guide

I had a hysterectomy in 1992. If you like, I can tell you some of the long term effects. However that really is something I'd rather not do here. And they may be anecdotal - on other fora I am usually in the minority with my experiences.

I'm already listed as a contributor in that entry. I think I'll leave it. People will no doubt Google anyway if they are thinking about it and will find plenty of information. Your entry is on the op itself and the immediate aftermath so let's leave it at that.

BTW among one of the activities you should go easy on immediately afterwards is driving. But then only if you have a manual gear shift and have had a surgical removal, I suppose, where the stomach muscles have to recover. An emergency brake manoeuvre could overtax the lower abdomen.

Eep! I did drive a little yesterday... but will refrain for a while!

I am glad you are recovering well.
Personally, I never looked back from mine (1998, I was 43 and had finished my family.) My symptoms had been awful to live with and I was glad to see the back of it all
