I remember a character being sucked into a TV in"Videodrome"

smiley - wow

For a while, I tended to go for Cronenberg's films. "Scanners" was morbidly fascinating. I kept waiting or heads to explode. "Videodrome" had the image of someone being sucked into a television.

Those were among his early films, before he went mainstream with "Dead Ringers," "Naked lunch," "The fly" and "Dead zone."

He also has had a modest career as an actor, in "Barney's version," and "Into the night," among others. I thought that I saw him in "Necropolis," but ImDB doesn't seem to list him. smiley - huh

Awix

You may be thinking of Nightbreed, in which he definitely appears (the films were both made in the late 80s and have vaguely similar plots).

I think there are more film directors who have cameos in Into the Night than in any other movie: Jim Henson, Roger Vadim, Don Siegel, Jack Arnold, Jonathan Demme, and many, many more...
