I saw this news item recently, and thought it deserved a Guide Entry

This reminds me of the story of a consignment of plastic ducks, which ended up being distributed over much of the world.

The story sounds funny, but is just one example of man made objects polluting the ocean.

good Entry
I wonder if there should be 1-2 more general sentences about pollution of the ocean through plastic/lost cargo?

You beat me to this one. I saw a discussion on Twitter over the weekend. I'd never seen a Garfield telephone before, thank Zarquon.
I wonder if we could manage to get a photo? They're really quite horrible to look upon.
I agree with Tav, maybe a tiny bit more about pollution and ocean currents?

Thanks for reading everyone
I updated the introduction and added a couple of headers so I hope that's better
It would be good if we could get a photo - 'Garfield telephone' sounds cute, and indeed it can be, but 'Garfield telephone that has spent 30 years in water' is 'really quite horrible to look upon' indeed!

One curiosity--is "a man and his brother" a long way of saying "two brothers"?
Congratulations! Excellent Entry.

Isn't it an old counting song about in the meadow?
One man went to phone
Went to phone a Garfield
One man and his brother
Went to phone a Garfield.
Two men went to phone
Went to phone a Garfield
Two men and their brother
Went to phone a Garfield.

Great song!
Thanks Recumbentman Good point - I think I was specifying that the witness was 'a man' but he found the container with his brother. 'He and his brother' would read better, so that's a note for the Sub-editor in due course
