I couldn't stand it. The sight of white supremacists boasting about their milk-drinking prowess provoked me to write this guide entry.
I didn't manage to work in the Barbie 'Got Milk' costume. Do google 'Barbie Got Milk'. The costume is worth the trip.
Anyway, this is more than you ever wanted to know on this subject unless you are a dairy farmer. I hope it's entertaining.
Full disclosure: I am lactose intolerant, and can't drink whole milk, but love cheese.

Thank you for this Entry - this topic has long been a gap in the Guide and you've tackled it in style Great introductory paragraphs - superb linkage to other Guide Entries
I found the first youtube video a bit strange - sort of inverse automatic subtitles, that the text came first and then the audio was added, and it doesn't appear to be totally linked to its own title... I like how it is just reporting the news, though.
Love that heading 'Moo'
"druggist" is a fascinating word - causes me to muse on the negative connotations of 'drug' versus the positive connotations of 'medicine' and the links between the two... Interesting about 'Thatcher the Milk Protector' - Quite the saga indeed!
Some of those Carnation adverts are rather disturbing! Fascinating what the advertisers thought would sell the product My favourite milk advert is Accrington Stanley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6HWNzzR070 - textbook Scouse 'Exakhly!'
I 'like' that Lever Brothers margarine advert - fascinating that the 'buzzwords' such as 'unsaturated' have been around for longer than I thought...
The Entry has great flavour I'm very grateful for milk, as I live squarely inside the UCL map of lactose persistence so it keeps me going when the going gets tough

Thanks for reading, Sasha. I appreciate the comments - and that video! That kid is so cute...
That first video *is* strange - it uses a computer-generated voice, I believe. But I couldn't find another link that didn't include analysis or a strong bias.

A great Entry!
I would only appreciate a translation to reasonable measurements in the list at the bottom.

I was waiting for somebody to say that.
I'll get to that this afternoon - I didn't have time before, and then I forgot, so thanks for the reminder!

Excellent That is good to clarify the number of litres, as I was thinking of Imperial gallons rather than US gallons.
I like the metric cow with 4 stomachs

Much thanks to SashaQ and Tavaron for help with the mathematical quandaries thrown up by US measurements. We'll all be on the lookout for those differently-measured gallons now, too.

sorry you can't drink it, it's a staple of my diet and I have a fright if I think I am about to run out. My older daughter is lactose-intolerant so I have to be careful what I bake for her. Lemon meringue pie goes down a treat. I once heard that 99% of Asians are lactose-intolerant

That sounds about right. I had a lot of Asian students who made faces at the mention of pizza...
I'm not as bad as some - if it's cooked, it's okay, some cheeses are okay - but I won't drink whole milk unless I'm also eating a bowl of very spicy chili.
My mom's family avoided milk. My dad drank it by the quart.
I'm suspecting our Native American ancestors caught up with us.

This entry reminded me of the free school milk ration in the UK
Every primary school had a daily delivery of creates of milk little bottles of about a third of a pint.
If you liked milk it was good stuff, and there was always an over supply as some did not like it.
The favorite game was seeing who could drink it fastest.
Good interesting entry well done

Yeah! Congratulations!
Yes, my mum used to get the milk in school - she didn't like it when it was warm in summer so she would give it away to other people, but in winter when it was ice cold other people didn't like it so they gave it to her and she loved it!
Her first wage packet went on a fridge so she could have 'Nice Cold Ice Cold Milk' whenever she wanted! I'm grateful for my fridge, too, because I am not a fan of warm milk either. I do like hot chocolate made with hot milk, though

I tried Sheep's Yoghurt recently, and it was a good experience - the taste was very nice, and it was just the texture was a bit firmer than I like so I was glad I tried it but it won't tempt me away from my usual brand
