Good to see this again - I still like the breezy tone smiley - ok

As it is a while since I last read the Entry, the first sentence confused me at first - it refers to Carry On Christmas Specials, I presume.

The sentence beginning 'In 1977...' seems a bit out of place, somehow, like it would fit more neatly as a concluding sentence at the end of the Entry.

You can add the link to the Bechdel Test Entry smiley - ok And to the Simon de Montfort Entry too?

"Tragically his role was sadly edited out of the broadcast episode."

smiley - laugh That was lucky that Simon Callow wasn't edited out of the credits too - got his name known albeit not his face!

The second episode set around the Round Table was not an improvement on the first, by the sounds of it?

smiley - ok

Thanks for the comments, I've made those changes to clarify the beginning and have the comment as a conclusion, with more links added.smiley - ok

The King Arthur episodes were both quite middling - not as terrible as others but not particularly funny either.

I still think that the funniest thing in the whole series is that of all that they could have edited out of the television series, they went for Simon Callow's debut appearance.

smiley - laugh Yes!

This is looking good. One thing I noticed just now is the excellent line in some of the tables: 'Parody of'. The 'Orgy and Bess' one is particularly good, that you say what the title is inspired by. Are the titles of the episodes with no 'Parody of' line similarly inspired? I know 'The Sobbing Cavalier' would be the painting 'The Laughing Cavalier' but I'm not sure about the others offhand...

I must admit that I'd only stated that the first episode in the two parody series were parodies, so now I have added that detail to the second and third Flimsy episodes and the second Bludgeon-Plunger one.

I have also added that the title of 'The Sobbing Cavalier' was inspired by the painting, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it was a parody. 'The Prisoner of Spenda' is a parody of 'The Prisoner of Zenda' as it has similar characters enacting the same plot, and Lord Flimsy is a spoof of Lord Whimsey. 'The Laughing Cavalier' is a painting and devoid of plot, characterisation etc. The main character, Sir Jethro, doesn't look like the man in the painting. Far from being a devoted cavalier, he is trying to remain neutral.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
