oh dear, you can do that with Venus transits and eclipses, but Mercury is impossible to see without specialist equipment, a big telescope with sun filter (hich I don't own) so I had to be content watching it on the 'net.

Traveller in Time with loads of lenses and mirrors
"Perhaps I should have used a telescopic setup. Still it was fun trying to get an image. Late afternoon managed to get a blurry image of 30 cm on te ceiling. "
