Your use of "the cure for the itch" as a link was very good!
I got the bit about this "itch" being the urge to fight tyranny.
This urge begins as a struggle against bullying and matures into
the courage to stand up to tyrants. As is being shown in the Middle East,"the power of the spoken word" lies in how it motivates people to
take action. The word democracy is just one of thousands found in any dictionary, in any language. But when shouted with passion and verve,
it can bring down tyrants. The danger is that these new democracies "become part of the rest". This is happening in Egypt today but has happened in many countries. This is my only criticism of your poem:
Your warning, about becoming irrelevant,was too subtle. This is a very good poem, it deserves a stronger ending. Thank you for sharing this poem. smiley - smiley
