I can honestly say that I had previously never heard of asexuality - your article was fascinating and extremely informative. Thankyou for writing it.

I'm not really here Posted Sep 2, 2005
I enjoyed it as well - I once had a relationship that was sexless for over two years, and I spent my time saying 'but it's not normal to not want to have sex'. I don't think asexuality was a factor in that relationship (although I don't know this for sure), I see now that I was wrong. For some people it obviously *is* normal to not want to have sex.
Thank you.

Wow. I never knew of human asexuality... very interesting. I orginally figured i'd only read a paragraph or two to find out exactly how humans could be asexual, but I found myself reading a lot more out of interest.
Good job

Just wondering: I heard that J M Barrie (Peter Pan author) and Michael Jackson may be assexual. Assuming (as I do) that neither were paedophiles, could they have been assexual?

Thanks for a great entry - it certainly got me thinking...
...among other things, of those letters to relationship experts in magazines, you know like 'Help me, I'm 34 and still a virgin!'
Could it be that such persons are in fact asexual but thinking there must be something wrong with him/her because of being different from 'everyone else'?

I think it is possible, Titania. And the advice experts' usual responses might be barking up the wrong tree for all we know. But then, I find that relationship experts carry the same biases to their work as the rest of society. So seeing something otherwise would surprise me.
