It makes me wonder how many people there are on here, just lurking.smiley - ghost I see everything on here as a public place, but some of the conversations on peoples PS's can be quite personal. It makes me feel quite voyeuristic reading them. Doesn't stop me reading though! smiley - biggrin

Sometimes I wonder how lazy I really am. I put so much effort into devising ways of avoiding work, I end up exerting more effort than I would of done if I’d just done the work in the first place!

When I was at uni, I found lots of convincing reasons not to do my dissertation until three days before it was due. I spent 48 hours solid at the computer! That’s hard work!

I’m not lazy. I’m stupid.smiley - erm

I'll certainly give full consideration to joining the clubs. I’ll have to see if I can find more clubs that match my personality defects! And probably not join them anyway...

I was going to post this on the What Just Happened thread, but decided against it in case I offended Lord Wolfden (even though he probably deserves it!). Being too soft is another one of my defects.

I thought you might appreciate it after the I’m Sparticus stuff and all that. Anyway, what just happened?

I was looking at Wolfies PS U1531982 and gave myself a terrible fright when I came to the end of his favourite things list.smiley - yikes When I dared, I took a closer look, and felt an immense sense of relief. For a moment, I was very worried!smiley - laugh

By the way, I saw your post on Wolfies thrilling What is your significant other doing at the moment thread. I pondered repeatedly calling him Dave, but thought nah can’t be arsed!

I'm usually too soft too, but when it comes to lordWolfden, I can't help myselfsmiley - evilgrin

smiley - laughThat would have been pretty scarysmiley - biggrin There was thread on Ask that asked something like "If you could be anyone else, who would you be?". So I posted lordWolfden without any reason and he had a big rant at mesmiley - laugh

Maybe you could put a list of your own favourite things on your PS, with him on it, to freak him out when he stumbles across itsmiley - evilgrin

You got a big rant out of him? I’m impressed! I’ve never seen him string more than two sentences together!

Putting him on a favourite things list is a nice idea, but I’d be worried that some people would take it seriously and think I’ve got an unhealthy Wolfie obsession! I understand what you mean about not being able to help yourself. He makes it so easy, it’s hard to hold back!

Ahhh, it feels good to be up at this time on a Monday morning. Normally I’d still be up at this time anyway, but I’d be feeling guilty because I have to get up early for work. But, I’ve got a week off. No work for me! No work for me!

If your reading this in the morning (or early afternoon), then I’m still in bed!smiley - zzz

Sorry, I thought you might read that at work and I couldn’t resist rubbing it in. Somehow, letting everyone who’s working know that your not working makes it that much more enjoyable!smiley - evilgrin

A few years ago, I had a factory job, chopping up and packing lettuce in a wet, freezing cold warehouse. I had to get up at 4:30am, and on the first day, my housemates left me a note that read something like this:

As you read this we’re all in bed. It’s nice, warm and cosy, and none of us will be getting up until the afternoon. Then we’re going to watch TV. You’re going to have a terrible, terrible day. P.S. Can you put the bins out please?

B**tards!

I’m living with my parents in Chorley at the moment. If your not sure where that is, it’s between Bolton and Preston – Peter Kay land! Where are you? Somewhere more exotic than Chorley I trust?

I’m going to the Big Chill festival this weekend, so I’m praying for sunshine! It’s been a wet festival season this year, but I’ve got a good feeling about it – I always seem to take good weather with me to festivals!smiley - grovel

I'll keep an eye on your PS for any sign of Wolfie!smiley - winkeye

smiley - evilgrin I see you’ve been busy… Your evil, FB!smiley - evilgrin Remind me never to cross you! smiley - laugh

After Phoenix Nights first aired, they actually started a real Chorley FM! There’s a small shopping centre in town, and it’s played over the loudspeakers. It always brings a smile to my face when I here, “Your listening to Chorley FM!”

Dave Spikey lives in Chorley. A couple of years ago, the council appointed him our cultural ambassador!smiley - biggrin The funny thing about Phoenix nights is that it can be scarily accurate. My dad and his mates could easily fit in at the Phoenix! He goes to this place called the St John’s Club to sing karaoke every weekend. Sometimes I go in there if I’m giving him a lift home and it’s uncanny!

I tried to get tickets to Glasto this year, but it was impossible. They sold out in three hours, and I just couldn’t get through on the phone. When I saw all the rain, a relaxed on my dry sofa, and enjoyed it from there! I went in 2002 and had an amazing time. What music are you into? Glasto’s a safe bet because there such a wide range of stuff - there’s loads of little stages dotted around that you don’t see on the tv coverage.

The Chill’s a bit more alternative, and asides from the main stage it’s quite dance based. The act I’m looking forward to most is Horace Andy. He’s one of my favourite reggae singers, and he’s getting on a bit now, so I want to see him before he retires/snuff’s it!

My evil supreme reign has come to an end now thoughsmiley - sadface I've just been told that my Links page has been put on moderationsmiley - laugh It was worth it thoughsmiley - evilgrin

It's real?!smiley - laugh I thought that was just a Peter Kay thing! Speaking of which, I saw the "Peter Kay Thing" on telly the other night. Never watched it beforesmiley - biggrin

I love that bit in Phoenix when Kay (I've forgotten his characters name!smiley - yikes) rolls his chair over to the bar and tries to get a drink but can't reach, so uses a vasesmiley - laugh

I like a lot of indie bands - Delays, Coldplay, Doves, Turin Brakes, The Magic Numbers. I've gotten into Interpol and Arcade Fire this year toosmiley - cool

smiley - sadface Bugger! I was hoping for a few more days! Wolfie seemed pretty confused/p!ssed off! What with the pre-mod, he’s going through the wars, isn’t he? smiley - evilgrin I like the way 2legs played the innocent! He knew where that post was going, surely!

As for music, I’ve got a pretty varied taste. I tend to steer clear of the charts, and I have a hard time appreciating country, but other than that, I’m open to most things. Recently, I probably listen to reggae and jazz more than anything else. When it comes to guitar bands, I tend to listen to old bands from the 60’s to the 80’s like the Doors and the Pixies. I find a lot of the current groups a bit derivative of the originals, but there are some good exceptions. I saw the Arcade Fire on Jools Holland a few months ago, and thought they were excellent – I’ll probably get their album. I saw the Doves when I was at Glasto – very good! It’s hard to believe they used to make House!

I’m off down London tomorrow, to meet some old friends before we head up to the festival, so I’ll be offline for awhile. Behave yourself FB!smiley - winkeye

You’ll be pleased to know that after my gloating, last week, I went back to work today.smiley - blue How I hate it! If you’d seen my face when I opened my inbox to find 112 emails staring back at me, you’d of backed away slowly, making as little sound as possible! Luckily, I know someone with a reliable source of fresh coffee in a neighbouring office, so I hid there for as long as possible! Despite the hot weather at the festival, I managed to catch a cold, so that made work even worse. So, I’ve been wearing my angry face ever since I hit the snooze button for the 5th or 6th time this morning, but feel a bit better now I’m home.

The Big Chill was excellent by the way. Horace Andy didn’t turn up smiley - sadface, but I cheered up when I saw the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain! Their cover of Psychokiller by Talking Heads was one of the highlights for me. They also do a mean version of How Low by Nirvana!

Glad to see you’ve been behaving yourself. I smiled when I saw that the earwigs thread is still on his PS.smiley - biggrin

smiley - angel? I don’t believe it for a second! smiley - biggrin
