Mrs Zen

Where's the technical wish list? In my innocence I assume'd it would be here?

I suggest folks DO post any technical suggestions in this thread, since it's in the right place, even if it's not the main thread for suggestions and requests.

From anothjer discussion, we could add a tiny "report broken link" button to edited A-pages on all the skins... smiley - geek It would be part of the "Referenced sites" column, so if there are no links we suppress that column and thus the button wouldn't appear.

Oh, I don't know if it has been mentioned, but I'd like the ability to remove people who put me on their friends list. smiley - ok

Further, from me:
A standard panel below each entry (Approved, UG, Post) with check boxes for
. Links
. Factual
. Out-of-date
. Spelling, punctuation etc
. Other
Along with a text entry box and a Send button which alerts whichever team is responsible for that aspect.

- A mechanism that puts all Replies into Preview for, say, 10 seconds before allowing any Post

- Insurance against 'No Subject' Subjects

- Reinstate (latest or original?) thread subject, automatically, on the first posting after moderation.

- Post 21 warning (not prevention) when hitting Reply

- Some mechanism to tell me of visits to an entry of mine - two numbers, a) total / b) since I hit that Reset button - & a date that I last did.

Oh and Bel's post 3: Friends should be mutual, so notification/request to the other party before addition.

Oh yes... and

An obvious distinction (of style & heading) between entries, eg

~1 for for EGEs, UGs, Post - that is, for entries that have some level of peer acceptance

Oh Hell! Oh phooey! There's just too damn' much of it!

I think I should just crawl away & hide (not forgetting to collect an extra large malt on the way).

Rod, re:

- Post 21 warning (not prevention) when hitting Reply"

The thread subject may be the reason the thread has been modded, esp. if it's the first post that was "caught", and "post 21" isn't a fixed "thing" - in future skins people may have the option of 30 or 50 posts to a page, so a warning for one particular default might not be sensible.

Witty Moniker

I've never understood the purpose of the Friends List other than as a shortcut to subscribing to someone's journal. What about getting rid of it in favor of a list of subscriptions?

The "Friends" bit in the name is a clumsy piece of social engineering. You could have equally well called it a "stalker's list" and the function would remain unchanged.

Peet, re your post 8

Me :- >>Reinstate (latest or original?) thread subject, automatically, on the first posting after moderation.
You :- >> The thread subject may be the reason the thread has been modded, esp. if it's the first post that was "caught"

Reply:- If it's the thread subject then say, eg 'Moderated Thread Subject' thus allowing the originator (ha?) a second go.

You:- >>"post 21" isn't a fixed "thing" - in future skins people may have the option of 30 or 50 posts to a page, so a warning for one particular default might not be sensible.

Reply:- OK then, post 31 or 51...
My point being that for the feeble-minded like me, if, when I hit the Reply button it would be nice if a little box came up "Unread Posts Remaining // Cancel // Continue"

Should we all move over to that other thread?

Ignore me, I was being dense. When you said a "Post 21 warning" I thought you meant warning someone that their reply to a post would end up on the next page, making it look out of context.

Milla, h2g2 Operations

I know this isn't really a bug list, it's a wish list, but I'm tracking all various suggested changes.

Please report at A87753135 if your suggestion is important, and don't forget to label each thread with BR.

I'm not logging issues off this thread...
