i was wondering if anyone knows the names of the artists who made each smilie we have here on hootoo....

it would be really nice to have a list
each smile with its creator's name clickable to his or her ps

all other creations on here are authored
surely giving credit for each smilie is in order?

so anyway...
if there is a list somewhere with each smilie's creator
that i could be pointed to
i would be glad to make the entry i just described

Yes, I think we talked about that. Unfortunately I have no idea how to find out about the old ones.
Most that we get at the moment are done by Mala, I think she already did most of the last few the BBC put on the site.

i was asking about the older ones and any she has not done

surely somewhere there must be a record....
like a thread back in the early days hooked to artists
names would be a good start
could hook a name to the word 'smilie' or 'smiley' in thread search
either in google or on here

since i wasnt here then i have no idea where to look
but i know you artists have access to pages of blobs
and other stuff we dont
maybe somewhere in there are ...threads started at the bottom
by the artists?

i just need any info to start some sort of search
to find that artist information
that i know is somewhere on here

Well, I was not a member of the Artists until the move. I was a member of the Photographers for several years. So I really don't know. I hope that some of the 'original' artists know more about it.

I remember that a few weeks ago someone had the idea if adding the artists name to the smiley index. But this isea was drowned by the christmas preparations I fear.

As far as I know, it was never recorded.

Not that it matters - lack of credit will just keep the complainers away.

well... one of the reasons i still hang out here is because of the smilies

there just isnt anything comparable on the internet for those two... they are classic

there are a few i don't like
but none that totally bum me out or anything
they just don't speak to me
but most of them do

i am an artist
so i know we dont make stuff for the fame
but we do deserve credit
(michaelangelo sneaking into the ...sistine chapel? to sign his pieta comes to mind )

anyway... i think ottox might have been an early artist
