Like most large communities we have numerous different Clubs & Societies. You'll find those listed by category@ A660340 & that includes regional researchers' groups. Oh & I'm not sure if it's in/on there, but you might want to consider joining pheloxi's United Friends@ A703126 . Take your time going over that (*sigh*I know a bit like studying but this's cooler) & be sure to have a good look around - there's lots to see.
