THE Sandwich!

I'm sorry, this is extremely random, but I have to tell you about THE sandwich.
I had the best sandwich ever the other day for lunch. And it was homemade
It consisted of two slices of whole-white bread, spread with margarine with (wait for it):
paté
chedder cheese
turkey-ham
salad
chicken
and English mustard
betwixt them. In that order. And it was good.
Just to let you know

I've always hated beetroot and the way it leaks it's colour into everything else on the plate and takes over

Also not a good idea to eat Beetroot before having a night on the . You always have that first wee of the day next morning, and for one awful moment, think your kidney's have exploded.
But back to favourite sandwiches. It's hard to beat Mashed boiled egg, mixed with sliced raw onion, English Mustard and Salad Cream. Chill for about an hour then spoon between two slices of Wholemeal bread, and sprinkle with Watercress and Mustard cress.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I lived on egg sandwiches when I was expecting my youngest and she loves them too. Try a bit of watercress too, a bit more bite1

Did you try it, did you try it?
Another one that's a favourite at airscotia towers is one i first experienced in Edinburgh. Two really thick pieces of crusty white bread, sliced and spread with butter. 3 slices of smoked back, rind on, bacon fried til crispy,a few crisp fried mushrooms, and topped with a roundel of black pudding. Apply copious amounts of H.P brown sauce, and squash together.
It may be advisable to phone the heart clinic before you take the first bite as it really is a coronary waiting to happen, but in moderation it's heavenly.

I've just thought of another one.
This was told to me by a couple of rugby pals who were ex soldiers; the 'Egg Banjo'
It's two runny fried eggs with plenty of tomato ketchup in white bread. Nothing remarkable about that you think, ah but the name is the good bit. Imagine you are holding the sandwich in your left hand, and you take a great big bite. Immediately runny egg yolk and ketchup burst out and land on the front of your best shirt. You move the sandwich up and away to the left to stop it leaking over you even more, while trying to wipe the mess off your shirt with your right hand..........hey, you look like you're playing the banjo.

Virtual Bacon banjos (as above but with bacon) are regularly consumed in the radio2 coffee bar
