Hi DG
I'm your Sub-editor for The Baltimore Oriole: Bright Aristocrat of the Bushes. The new version is A87995227 - please subscribe!
I enjoyed reading this again
The only thing I was a bit worried by was the paragraph about the hybridisation - I wonder if it needs unpacking a bit more. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/analysis-hybrid-birds-are-supercolliders-of-speciation/ Can you say something about what a Bullock's Oriole is and why it was considered to be the same species as the Baltimore Oriole?
Thank you

How about:
Baltimore orioles have a black head and white wingbars. Bullock's oriole has an orange head with a black line across its eye that looks like it was put there by an expert make-up artists. Bullock's oriole also has a larger white patch on its wings. See this image to compare.

Excellent - thank you very much That's exactly what was needed - love the bit about the make-up artist
I hope everything is OK for you, but let me know if there is anything you'd like to change before I send the Entry to the next stage
