It depends on what the footnote says. I'm not sure Polidori is relevant to Dracula, but I'm open to suggestion.

I added one, but if you don't like it it can be excised. Otherwise, can you have a read through and let me know if you'd like any other changes made?

If you're going to mention Polidori and Frankenstein, you'd better go all the way and add:
Vampires were an English literary and dramatic staple throughout the 19th Century. James Robinson Planché's play The Vampire, or, The Bride of the Isles premiered in London in 1820. James Malcolm Rymer's Varney the Vampyre was serialised between 1845 and 1853.
Otherwise, I think we're good to go.

Hi, GB proof reading:
>>The vampire hunters retaliate by polluting all of the Count's crates of Transylvanian soil with holy wafers.<<
Holy wafers? Just checking that it shouldn't be "holy water"...
Holy wafers are all we are getting at Holy Communion at Sunday service due to Covid-19, the communion wine is banned.

No, it was wafers. If you look at the Langella 'Dracula', you'll see it in action, I think - they break them and insert them in the soil. (Holy water works if you fling it, apparently.)
Somehow, the vampires in Romania seem to respond to Western religious traditions, in spite of the Romanian Orthodox Church...
Me, I would have bonked one with an icon.
Oh, yeah - even the Baptists are giving people prepackaged communion kits. Of course, this only involves crackers and grape juice. Those of us who attend virtually supply our own 'elements', which once, I blush to say, included V-8 juice. According to Elektra, a tomato is also 'the fruit of the vine'. Thus Covid maketh theologians of us all...
