Subbing the sugared pecans

Hi Dmitri smiley - hug

I have subbed your delicious-sounding entry here: A87981961 <--- don't forget to subscribe! smiley - towel

smiley - starI have changed "baking sheet" back to "cookie sheet" (baking tray) - because I know it as a baking tray, not baking sheet.

smiley - starAdded a footnote about ground flaxseed being a good vegan substitute for egg white (I had to research that, I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I admire those who are).

smiley - galaxyI love your images. The sugared pecans look delicious, even though I gave up sugar decades ago. Andy bought me a rainbow birthday cake last week. It was so sweet it made my teeth scream. Back to a sugarless existence this week (it's how I keep my weight down). I am intrigued with your sugared pecans though, especially that I could make a batch and store them in a jar at room temp. That way I could have one as and when I fancy, without feeling guilty for not eating them all when fresh, or over-indulgent if I do. I can imagine that the ancient Egyptians used to make these types of treats (maybe with dates?) for their loved ones and visiting VIPs. And entombed a jar or several with mummified royalty, for the afterlife. I like your "2 spoons if it's raining, 3 if it's not" advice - my mother would have approved. smiley - biggrin

Hey, there! smiley - hug Thanks! It looks great. smiley - smiley

I thoroughly approve the changes. I didn't know about that use for flaxseed. Flaxseed is something I have to avoid in my diet. It makes me wake up at 3 am screaming for no apparent reason. smiley - laugh

That's a great idea about the snacking possibilities with sugared pecans. I do that myself. smiley - ok

I'm imagining the ancient Egyptians eating those sugared dates now - lying down, as their spice boxes dripped oil on their wigs...for some reason, Terry Jones is there...oh, yeah, he did that series... smiley - rofl
