Well, if your intention is to write an essay, then the AWW is a good place. smiley - smiley But remember: the AWW isn't a place where people start discussions. It's a place where people critique writing.

If you want to start a discussion, may I suggest your journal? If you write about creativity in your journal, people who visit your journal are more likely to engage in a discussion with you.

May I also suggest that you visit a few journals to see how h2g2ers write there, and what kinds of things they write about? I tend to use mine to blog about silly news items and films I watch, especially public domain ones. smiley - laugh Others report on their doings, or even offer quizzes.

To be perfectly honest, I really do have questions about critique v.s. discussion.

Do you care to discuss that?

My first entry is in Peer Review. I have changed or questioned everything any reviewer has posted. In questioning some of the posts, I found myself in the awkward position of defending what was written v.s. what was critiqued. I well know I could be wrong or blind, so I asked. In so asking, it sounds like a discussion of my entry, but really it is ONLY to resolve what I perceive as differences of perspective [or error by myself or the reviewer]. I am slow when it comes to such things. Do you have some light to offer?

This is an editorial and as such, clearly does not belong in the Guide proper.
It may belong in The Post, but I question whether that is really true.
If it belongs there, is it is ready?

I placed it in the Alternative Workshop for critique prior to wherever else after that.
It received no attention.

Once it is out of the workshop, it might be ready for the The Post.
I assume an editorial should arouse discussion in The Post, right?
I am not asking to be allowed, I am asking what is proper on this site.
I am asking for your advice.

Thank you for your attention.

As far as editorials are concerned: as Post Editor, I write an 'editorial', which is really an introduction to each issue. We publish all kinds of things: essays, personal stories, reviews, cartoons, etc. But we don't publish editorials, per se. But we do publish essays that in other venues might be considered under the category of 'Op-Ed'. Your piece on how h2g2 struck you certainly falls into that category, I think.

I would say that this piece could be a Post entry, as an essay. Would you like to send it to the Post, in GuideML, if you can, at postteamhg-at-gmail-dot-com? I ask that so that the Post Staff can get at it conveniently. If you don't feel comfortable with GuideML, and don't want to send us a Worddoc or Notepad doc, just send the title and the url to the h2g2 link. smiley - smiley
