They're here - the July statistics. And my hunch about Youtube shorts paid off.

9,678 total views for the month.

That's 59 hours. That's almost two-and-a-half DAYS. Our power to stop the world is increasing. Mwaha and ha!

We got 10 new subscribers. All by turning the camera sideways. You see, everybody except me is watching these things on their mobiles. So YT likes 'shorts', which are portrait-oriented. I asked everybody for shorts, and we got lots of views.

Keep sending them, please. This is fast and fun.

This one started the ball rolling and earned an incredible 2,207 views. Thanks again to FWR and his friends the McG's in San Diego.

After watching this video take off, pardon the pun, I had an idea. I called for clips. Robbie said, 'All I've got is this shot of the bay at Majorca.' I said, 'Give it here.' I put in a silly joke. We got 1,769 views for 'Majorca Scenic Challenge'.

I dug up some old clips from my archive - cats, kittens, cows, birds, bunnies. They all ended up in the 'shorts' rotation for about a day and got around 400 views or so.

Special mention goes to 'Unwelcome Grasshopper' by Tavaron. Tav trapped this critter in a glass before relocating it out of her kitchen. She says they get into hard-to-find places and sing all night otherwise. She knows I don't like grasshoppers, so she warned me, 'Sorry, you won't like this.' The video got 437 views.
