Bearable thanks, Peanut. smiley - smiley

A completely self-inflicted migraine is about to go full blown (a consequence onion-laden food last night), and I've taken what will take the edge off this, but now I need to get horizontal and off the net for a few hours. The censor's fading and once that's gone I'm very likely to say something guaranteed to lose me friends.

Back to life, back to lucidity, which is a tad overrated if you ask me but never mind. smiley - cheerup

You know how it is when something seems so difficult or slow that you seem to be plodding week after week and not getting very far at all with it? Well, I was just thinking about last night's class.

We were asked to improvise and write a conversation between two characters, using words and phrases which we'd learnt in the previous weeks - "hello", "how are you?", "what's your name?" etc. So far so obvious.

Last night we just about had enough words to go off piste, creating an exchange of mild insults and personal remarks for one pair and the classic "you think I'm fat" "no babe, I think you're lovely" situation for the other. smiley - laugh

You know that you're getting somewhere when you can start being silly in the language which you're trying to learn.
smiley - ok

When I was learning chemistry it used to make my head sort of tingle when I got my head around something, I imagined that it was probably my brain making connections and trying to wire them in smiley - wizard

“The time is out of joint: O cursed spite / That ever I was born to set it right!” smiley - steam

Have just spent a couple of hours talking online to somebody who's going through a fair bit of unrotted manure and basically needed to talk it out. Not easy given that I can't type quickly.

I now have an email to prepare to send to my mother who ditto, in the run up to christmas, ARGHHHHHHHHHHH! smiley - grr

And breathe. smiley - zensmiley - zensmiley - zen

It's fine, I am fine, I will be fine. Am I spherical objects! smiley - laugh

It was really quite cold here this morning, but at least I've got enough properly warm clothing after the last two vicious winters. smiley - ok

Dress update: The bits which need boning have been measured, and I've ordered the wires and boning tape, which should be here next week.
.............................................................................................................................................

Random card: Knight of Cauldrons (knight of cups) Tarot of the Old Path, inverted.
Yet another inverted card, and no, I haven't just kept the entire deck upside down! smiley - laugh

A fair, pale-eyed youngish man in silvery blue armour and chainmail stands. Very poetic, maybe artistic, sensitive, or at least born under one of the water signs?. In his metal gauntleted hands, he holds a small cauldron, containing water and a bunch of sweet williams. For some reason, it looks as if there's a chain running from the hip belt of the armour to each of the gauntlets - are his hands tied? smiley - erm

I'm inclined to interpret this card (just for this evening) as the awareness of a message of love or friendship, from somebody who wishes that they were able to do more than this. Quite a bittersweet card, really. smiley - tea

The chemist had both items - hooray!

Shopping done.

Boning and tape arrived.

Found the perfect present for one of my relatives.

Not a bad day. In fact, all in all, quite a good day. smiley - cheers

BTW I haven't sorted out an ipernity account yet, but when I have, that's where the pictures of work on the dress will be hosted.

Okay, come on, get up and dressed. Things to do while there's still enough good daylight.

Random card: 3 of pentacles (coins) Tarot of the Old Path
A young man, in a stripey green jacket, with light brown hair sits rapt at a table, head resting on his left hand (concentrating). He's drawing with a quill pen, 2 pentacles have already been completed and he's almost finished the third.

Practice, training, or study; it might be artistic, or something more practical, or both. In any case, it's purposeful activity, done willingly and with a certain amount of skill.
.................................................
Just to remind you, I'll be continuing onto 1st December because I missed the start of this month.
Have I worked on the dress today? No.

Firstly, the next door neighbour had a few crises, then there were three separate deliveries of parcels etc. I got a bit of christmas shopping out of the way though, online. And I had a eureka moment, which I'll be keeping to myself for the time being.

And then there was a photo shoot which led to something else, as these things do, which in turn led to falling asleep for a couple of hours. That probably sounds a bit weird. To clarify: For a few hours I was more of a partner than a carer. smiley - biggrin

1st December This is the last NaJoPoMo entry from me before 2014
The dress in still a work in progress; I aim to finish sewing in the zip tomorrow, and start adding the boning, if the spirit moves me.

I still haven't sorted out a page on ipernity, that's another work in progress. When the dress is finished and the pictures have been uploaded, I'll let you lot know. It'll probably be underwhelming, but wearable for all that.

Up early tomorrow. There's a parcel to collect from the sorting office, and I need to get a swim before I burn out or lose condition again.

That's weird. I took out my tarot deck to do a random card and it was the Knight of Cauldrons again, but the right way up this time. Cut it again and I got Mastery (the Chariot) Both have turned up among my random cards recently. Point taken, gentlemen. smiley - laugh

Thanks for those Peanut. smiley - ok

Tonight's lesson was a bit intense - quite a few informal short tests in Polish.

I'd meant to start on a few anonymous valentine messages tonight (aiming to send a dozen this year, if the inspiration comes), but really need to rest.
