The Vespa which is under wraps 'til next year, I called Holly and compared her to a butterfly. Voila her familiar visited earlier..Same shade of blue. Weird.

Well I've been working on creating it for about 2 years...and the idea is for it to provide an environment for all manner of creatures...gardens are becoming increasingly important for wildlife due to development. Many species of butterfly and other insects are down in numbers. The Holly Blue likes Holly and Ivy...I have plenty at the back of the garden.

Yeah we do have some gems..like the overgrown large Victorian cemetery not far from me, and the council is letting part of public spaces like parks, revert to a less manicured state.

Yes, Effers, these pictures are defo out of the ordinary, evoking deep responses in me, not superficial ones. That makes 'em art in my book, far beyond decoration smiley - ok

Glad you like them Jabs...you too Elektra. I should have said.

It cheers me immensely how the garden has evolved from my hard work. I'll cut right back at the end of the summer, which is what happens traditionally with meadows. The vegetation is removed..so the soil gets poorer in nutrients. Meadows grow best on nutrient poor soil.

Each year the composition of plant species alters as the meadow gets older. Some plants have germinated that weren't there last year...and hopefully we'll get a less wet summer next year so it won't be so bedraggled..but still the foxes will beat a path through it to the pond..I like that.

clzoomer- a bit woobly

Beautiful. With our Junuary Summer my poor assortment of potted plants on the balcony are suffering. Sweet Peas and a Clematis are shrivelled things with sad, stunted flowers. It's nice to see something as beautiful as your garden.

Thanks for that! smiley - smiley

Cheers zoom. But I am a bit selective in the bits I show smiley - winkeye My wild hop plant has been bitten to shreds by some rain loving caterpillars and snails...other stuff likewise..well if I will let all of life into the garden...there'll be a fair bit of death...I'll do some pics of that some point...but yeah beauty is hard to resist, and its nice to share...that's a motivation for artists as well as getting the buzz of making something you feel good about.

I know you're getting sh** in your job as a photographer at present, from the automatons, but hopefully you know what I mean. Don't lose your vision mate. smiley - hug
