My two best friends
Effers;England. Started conversation Aug 10, 2011
I just got back in touch with them after cutting myself off from people.
They were so delighted to hear from me. One is a musician and the other a sound artist.
I'm so hoping this will help me.

I wish a certain person I know would get back in touch with people *other than me*!
This person spends a week or more absolutely pissed to the point of hospitalization and then suddenly calls me up demanding money, clothes and smokes and gets mad if a lighter isn't in the package that I might bring at my convenience.
Then, back to her flat for more drinking. Then I get a call from the building manager because for some reason I'm listed as the 'emergency contact' person.
I think it's time for a new, unlisted phone number.
Or a restraining order.
Sorry for the vent.
Just having the first few fava beans of the season.
Better now.

You're welcome to vent anytime here.
That must be hell.
fava beans sound good. I had some processed peas earlier which were good.
I couldn't believe how happy they were to hear from me.
I'm always so happy to be around creative people.

I might send you a more detailed vent by email.
But I've got to get a bunch of stuff done and it's bed time and I've got a load of stuff to do tomorrow and I didn't get enough done tonight and I'm going on a(n overdue) holiday next week and . . .
'why are you always having trouble when I call [at bedtime, etc.]?'
'Because I have a bleeding life!!!! [get out of your basement flat once in a while, meet some people . . . . get a job!!!!! and medical/psychiatric help other than the sticking plaster they offer in Emergency, for heaven's sake!]'

(Vent alert)
Pounding on the front door. Demand for help. Just left hospital again. Been evicted.
She phoned her parents. They told her to pi$$ off.
I told her that if all else where the same but she were a man and I were a woman, alone with a disabled kid in the middle of the night, the cops would have pledge on her before she'd started up the walk.
She actually expected me to let her stay the night.
I gave her twenty bucks and let her call a cab to take her to a homeless shelter.
At some point the well is dry.
She didn't thank me for the twenty.
Or for the coat she took.

I'm seriously considering a restraining order.
But I'm more seriously considering sleep.
After a beer.

""I think it's time for a new, unlisted phone number.""
just let the answer phone pick up your calls
"hi, i'm busy at the moment, leave a message and if its important i'll get back to you as soon as possible"

More than consider. Go for it. It'll be a strong boundary which will probably help her, as well as you.

thats what razor wire, landmines and machine guns are for!

razor wire would be frowned on in my neighbourhood.
But, the neighbours are a tight knit bunch, and they don't hesitate to call the cops if something isn't looking right.
Just this evening I noticed an unexpected vehicle parked behind the house of a neighbour who just left on a holiday. Immediately I noted the licence number, took some photos, called another neighbour who had also noticed the interloper . . .
I'm pretty sure it's a sibling and I'm fairly certain of which one, so the cops didn't get the call on that one tonight, but, I've got the photos and the plate number.
Bed.
