I have just found your message. I'm very unsure how I DID find it but thank you for your welcome.

I have only just typed a long reply to you but I have done my usual-deleted the whole lot by accident. Dash !

h2g2 is rather like an old and large tree, with many branches that divide and sub-divide. I am standing at the foot of the tree wondering which branch to climb.

I am reminded also of The Secret Garden. I have been given a key, and upon using it I have found a hidden garden full of curious things. When I leave the garden, I must remember how to visit it again.

So, as you have invited me to your personal space(you have done that, have you not?),do I do the same with mine ?? Is that how one enlarges one's circle of "friends" here ?

Also, where does one go to find out about all these unusual smileys ?

AND, are you the same person that I "spoke" to on the R3 MB re:Proms clothing ? Excuse my asking if you are not !!

What a lovely day it has been here-sunshine and breeze. I have been out for lunch, and have bought some Bizzy Lizzies for my empty pots. The freezer has been moved, all the ironing done, and the loft entered !! Time for a cup of red-bush now.

Sorry for not replying sooner. I hardly ever check my h2g2 message centre; most of the time I use h2g2, it's only to do things that should really be handled by DNA, not by h2g2. The trouble is that DNA and h2g2 are linked rather too tightly for my liking.

I think it can't have been on R3. I haven't posted on R3 since the 13th of October last.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but I don't recall ever speaking with you before. Can you remember which messageboard it was, or which thread? I might well have posted something about Proms clothing; after all, I make time to listen to many of the Proms, and can be drawn into chats about clothing!

I see you've discovered some of the smileys. When you compose a message in h2g2, look just under the type-in box. There's some text: "For a full list of smileys you can use, please see the Full Smiley Index." That links to an h2g2 page which leads to details of all the h2g2 smileys, arranged by category.
