Went to hear Graham Seed give a talk on "Nigel Pargetter RIP" this evening, in aid of Cambridge charity Wintercomfort. The lecture theatre in the Law Faculty was pretty full, and it was more of a Q&A session than a straight talk, followed by wine and nibbles. GS was delightful, and fairly tactful during the public part of the session, although I did hear him being slightly more indiscreet while mingling later.
Very enjoyable event; I wonder how many MLers were there, incognito?

That sounds fun
Are you going to the wordfest this weekend?

It was fun, WR - and I see from my thread in ML that a number of others were there. It's a pity we hadn't discussed it in advance, but maybe they didn't want to be 'outed'.
Yep, got lots of tickets for Wordfest: Stefan Collini (Cambridge academic, on the future (?) of universities), Dawn French, Antonia Fraser, Roger McGough, Celia Imrie, debut writers session (chaired by Ali Smith), Robert McCrum & Henry Hitchings. Looking forward to it very much.
