the Warm, the Cold and the Snowy

There is a saying in the Northeast USA: "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute". Now while this is not usually literally true, this weekend was a perfect example of the spirit of this saying. Let me preface this, my everlasting gobstoppers, by saying that this weekend was the annual Haunted House for the local Boy's and Girl's club. My family volunteers every year; my fianc does the makeup, I am a tour guide "http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:AQa6QaVXOesJ:www.southofboston.com/++patriot+ledger+eric+leishman&hl=en", and my step-daughter does random things throughout (this year she was running through a graveyard, screaming :)) So let me give you a day by day account, let you into my experience to run amuck unchecked. Thursday - this is the dress rehearsal, and VIP night. We of course don't tell the VIP's that this is a dress rehearsal, we just do the best we can and see what works, which thing fits like a whatsit into one of those other things. It is a beautiful night, high 40's to low 50's (for all of my "foreign" compatriots I apologize, I have not been properly trained in the use of metric, and have heard it can cause problems if used incorrectly), and we have a dozen or so groups; everything is timed and tried, we are ready. Friday - Subtle changes have been made, things go smoothly. If you are holding your breath waiting for the but, you may breathe easily. In fact it went very well, we raised about $6000; of course thats before expenses, but it should still be a good chunk of change for the club. I mention this day not only to say we did some good, but also to say the temp was decidedly colder, mid to upper 30's and cloudy. Actually it was rather good weather for a Haunted House, quite ominous Saturday Closed for snow! Yes, you heard me right, snow; quite the storm in fact. The decision was made about 2:00 that it was little to no use trying to hold a function outdoors did I mention the whole thing is outdoors? Fire issues and all. So my fianc did up about 4 of us (herself included) and we went to the local costume contest, where I placed 4th; I shant speak of this again. Sunday rain (snow?!) date. I attend to my contractual guarding duties, and show up about 30min after it officially starts; to quite the crowd! Things are in full swing and I cant wait to dive into the fray. Once again things go wonderfully, and I scare many a small child half out of their wits, of course all in good fun

This area gets weather because we're stuck between the ocean and mountains

Oh it is, quite nice in fact, as long as you like trees
Of course this is where I grew up, so I'm a bit bias

I have two things to say old friend, first congratulations to all of you guys for doing such charitable work. You should all be very proud of yourselves. Second as good as the online version of the photo is I liked the one in the newspaper better, it looked much creepier in black and white. Your good lady did a spectacular job on the makeup. I will end there as all of this being nice stuff is giving me a headache.
