I heard a Party Election Broadcast on Radio 4 last night.
It was on at approximately 10.30pm. And dammit, I'd just come OUT of the shower.
It took the form of a folk song, with whistling interludes, kinda like Horst Wessel doing a Roger Whittaker tribute wearing a beard in an arran jumper on a stool at an open mic night in The Olde Robyn Hode. The song reminded me of The Prioresses' Tale in The Cantebury Tales - i.e., a blood libel variant.
You'll probably be able to guess which party it the broadcast was from.
Still, we don't have a telly, meaning we won't see the TV broadcast, and Sue was already in bed with the radio off, so it was only me that heard it (and had to have another wash).
There is a view that the way to combat extremism is to allow extremist views to circulate freely, and be debated and questioned, as the truth will always win out over lies. I have a horrible feeling that Aristotle will have said something on the subject, and that this will form part of my Jurisprudence course next (academic) year.
BTW, I heard the broadcast on my bathroom tranny, and not one of my DABs. I have a theory that the radio text following the broadcast will have said something like 'now wash your hands.'

The party? Our Le Pen-ites, I suppose. What's French for The British National Party?
Elsa is beneath the bed. She doesn't mind respectful attention, within limits, and allows me to chuck her under the chin, but full forgivness is some way down the line. The main concern at the minute is her eating and drinking. She took some raw chicken and dried food from my hand this morning, but I haven't had any evidence of any liquid intake. Och, she will be OK, it's just waiting for the OK-fullness to happen.
