I don't know if anyone else has already come up with this idea, (probably) but if not, here it is.
Since we have a towel smiley and a don't panic smiley, then why not a 42 smiley?

Yes, it's old. Some people also want the green planet image which appeared on some version of the books/games(?).

PS So old in fact that it had made it onto the smiley suggestions list (which you apparently forgot to check - see link from page above) before that was closed many years ago. It even survived the culling of ideas which occurred a year or so later (and ago).

Well that must have been a long time back! It's not as though people can't type 42 though - and somewhat quicker than any smiley code.
