3/14
I had the idea today to make an entry every day that I smoked a cigar during the season for this whole year. I would include the basic information for each cigar: color, ring guage, country of origin &c. Also, I would give my opinion of each cigar and then any musings of note that came to me as I smoked. Pretty pointless and probably of interest to no one but myself. I might not even follow through with it, if I know me, but we shall see what we shall see.
I've really already had two this year--one on Feb. 12 and one on Feb. 19--while on break at Douglas. They were the small (38 ring, 4 1/4"), natural wrapper, Nicraguan Factory Corojos that I got from J.R. They come out to $.44 with shipping. I'm on my third (I think) wheel of these; I got them just to smoke on break because they take about 25 minutes which is just perfect for a half hour break. There will be a lot of these over the next couple weeks so to save time, I will just nickname them "breakers". I will create nicknames for all the ones that I have a lot of; it will be a little ritual for the first day of each one.
I don't remember thinking anything profound at the time. At one point, two coeds came out and sat on the porch. One of them made a comment about being warm except for her shins--she had capri pants on. I chimed in, "Go sit over there", indicating the bench on the eastern side, "see how the sun is hitting the bench ?" She actually did it and I didn't say anything but let it rest there in spite of the great satisfaction I felt for having had my advice followed. Saying anything more would have ruined it. I was rather proud of myself.

Yes, please do.
I usually prefer a 38-40 ring natural wrapper myself. I used to get the Don Diego longsdales from JR Cigar.
Looking forward to your smoking journal.

What the heck ?! I just put that up there. I'm alittle embarassed about it now but I will do my best to persist and see it through.

Embarrassed? Why? This is your journal, it's for you to post anything you find interesting in it... and everyone who adds you to their Friends' List is automatically subscribed to it. Or lurkers like myself can come and post in it, like any conversation.
And the great thing about h2g2 is that whatever you're interested in, there's a good chance you're not the only one! So a quick search found me this entry, for instance: A467066 (and this unfinished entry, which is rather amusing: A1140148)

Thank you. Most amusing and enjoyable. Entries will be sporadic at first and depend on the weather. When summer really kicks in it could become a real chore and you may see some terse entries---which is probably just as well.
