h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Simon and me were talking about this in the pub last night (we also got onto House of Lords reform, but anyway). We reckon if we get a few of us together we might be able to rustle up something. I think Neil and Mig are still up for it, and Simon seemed quite enthusiastic. Unfortunately Neil didn't turn up to the quiz, so I'm not sure what the exact situation is. What we were thinking of was a small affair (one committee room, one or maybe two other rooms. The Arran maybe). If we don't have any guests, it should be possible to run something with, say, 50 or so people. And as Simon pointed out, we can get that sort of turnout for a wedding.
So don't give up hope just yet.

Well shift yer arse quick like, and we might salvage a few peeps that I have talked to. Ooo, and perhaps let all those lovely people who have been to one before know, just like the original committee didn't

Hypo itself has been postponed to sometime in 2002. However, some of us in Glasgow are not happy about this, and are trying to get something off the ground for this September or thereabouts. Watch this space...

Ok, I've thrown together a brief page about the possible Son of Hypotheticon at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A558155 At the moment this is still in the planning stage, as Munchkin said. What we are looking for at the moment is expressions of interest, to see if we can get enough people to run something. Hopefully things should start firming up next week, as far as dates, locations etc. are concerned.

Good God. I think we have achieved more in two weeks than the Hypo committee in two months.
Ah, wait a minute, that isn't much, is it.
We have the bank account signed and all ready to go. The flyer is designed. We have a constitution. We even decided on the font to use for the website.
We sucked at the quiz though.
