We've done a couple more entries on how a community-led h2g2 could work.
If we have to take on the running of h2g2 we believe that it's do-able. We've drawn up two document's outlining how we could do it: A81133670 is a brief FAQ and
A81123888 is a more detailed version.

Ever since I saw the title of this thread, I'ev had the urge to answer: "most likely very well"

I'm part of several community or otherwise not-for-profit groups. Aside from the musical groups with which I play at community events, there is also the local community radio station, the food co-operative, and the no-kill animal shelter at which I volunteer to brush kitties.
They all work much better than their corporate counterparts, where such even exist. I have great confidence in community not-for-profit organizations.

My boss is the Scottish Stroke Tzar. I have asked him if he has a rasputin and a Tzarina and made some nominations he might want to consider.
