SIMETRA who???

Hi Lelly

In answer to your query in the Glum posting

Strange you should ask that, there are those who for some reason have got me down a female but I asked my wife about it and she said she wasn't sure either, so I guess I could be male. My on line name is based on a male although it has female links as well? I'm a photographer by profession, so when the sun doth shine I'm out and about, then spend forever on the MAC sorting my images, hence I use H2G2 for a little light relief.

I presume you are in management or something based on things you have written and live in London while Carole is in Devon. I notice you only use the site for the famous GLUM posting, there seems to be nice little group of us in this game, there are other Mornington Crescent games, check my page for them, Bunnyfrog seems to pop up everywhere.

I also had you down as female - odd. I have Bunnyfrog down as male for some reason - maybe I am wrong!

I quite fancied being a Photographer in my early years - after my fairly disastrous A level results, I had possibilities down to a Photography course at the London School of (name escapes me!!), Speech Therapy at London School of Speech and Drama, or Food Science at South Bank Poly (showing age again - no Polys left now!!). Ended up doing Food Science, and entered a career in product development and food technology for the major multiple supermarkets. Remember Dudley Moore looking for the chickens - that was me!!!

Left that after having children, and now have a really dull job in Computer Software Sales.

I often peruse the other H2G2 strands - I keep thinking that maybe I will post something in the peer review section, but haven't quite gotten around to it yet! Story of my life! Did a personality profile thingy recently, apparantly I am a self concious extrovert with no clear aims in life, and lots of plans that I never complete......

Ah well!!!!

Something that has struck me when I randomly look at other people's home pages is the number of people (seemingly) with terrible depression or mental illness. Is it something to do with the artistic bent, do you think? 'Cos they all seem to be very talented in the writing department. Maybe I am too sane to be a decent writer! That must be why my Mother is such a good writer - she's completely barking!!!!

Just read your home page.

Yoga - I love Yoga. I am a convert to the Ashtanga form, myself. I tried Hatha, but felt there were just too many old ladies in there for my liking!! Bendy, but old!!! When I did my first Ashtanga class, I could not believe how much of a sweat I worked up, and how much I felt like I had been run over by a steam roller the next day!!

However, some years on - love it!! I stopped for a while, and my knees started playing me up (very old lady-like) so started again, and now I have the knees of a 37 year old!!!!

What kind of photographs do you take?

I think your right about bunnyfrog, but who can tell, if we asked him he would go off on one with all sorts of red herrings as to his gender.

I never realized I was coming across as a female, I'll have to try and be a bit more butch in futuresmiley - laugh

I worked at studios that did food photography for a number of years, did a lot of work for Asda and other well known companies. Prefer working as a commercial location photographer these days, everything digital now, use a MAC because it's easy and never crashes.

Can't be bothered writing great works for H2G2, just enjoy a little cut and thrust with various postings. I have started one story though, it's on my space "Ford Prefect The Prequel", being going for a few months and has developed into a very strange story, needless to say bunnyfrog is a contributor, maybe you and Carole could add to it, read the story so far posts to catch up.

I actually teach Yoga, it's based mainly on the posture work which you could term as Hatha Yoga but cover other aspects, have been to Astanga classes, really go and very power practice.

I started to read Ford Prefect the Prequel - it has got really long!!! Taking some strange twists and turns, and a life of its own! Amazing how seemingly disjointed and bizarre additions can take on some sort of structure!

Have you thought about putting the whole thing together as a little piece for the edited guide?

So explain more about being a commercial location photographer - that sounds like you take photos for estate agents (the bain of my life at the moment - trying to sell my house).

Commercial means everything, Architecture, Industrial, Advertising, PR, anything that needs photographing that does not included Weddings and Baby Portraits.

Can not claim authorship for the Prequel, to many others have created this monster, anyway I don't want it to become a subject of peer review, someone called the MysteriousOne has done a good job of summarising things.

Dear Lelly

I really object to being called "absolutely barking" - it is simply not true. I am only a little bit barking.

Since you asked, I live in Cheshire, at bit of sun this afternoon but no job, I'm out all day tomorrow so keep the flag flying with the old GLUM postings, the association variation seems to have taken off well, need to push the bounderies with how obscure the connections are. Will check things out at the end of the day.

Cheshire is a lovely place. My brother, who now lives in Sydney, lived for many years in Cheshire, firstly in Winsford, and then in Chester. He still has a house in Chester, so we are hoping that he will tire with the continual sun and surf of Oz, and come back home!!! He's been there nearly 2 years now, so the novelty must be wearing off by now!!!!
