Today is my birthday, but I have a hectic day ahead of me. I'm due to see the doctor for a mole removal operation just after midday, and later tonight I take the plane to London to attend a big all-day meeting tomorrow. Day to day work, meanwhile, is very busy. Hopefully I'll get a chance to celebrate the anniversary of me coming into the world a little bit belatedly over the coming days.

I'll start celebrating your arrival right now!

Went to visit my new flat in Folkestone yesterday. Magnificent flat. Magnificent view! But I wonder if I shall be able to open the very havey glass door which opens onto the balcony and which is extra strong and heavy because of the gale force winds which blow off the Channel.

I *was* going to make a comment along the lines that it's unusual to have a mole removed - gerbils are more common. But that seems inappropriate now.
