Spring Break!
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Started conversation Mar 10, 2000
From Friday, March the tenth, until Sunday, March the 18th, I will be away from my dorm room and therefore difficult to reach on H2G2. This doesn't mean that I don't care about you all! It just means that I'm in Phoenix, with three days spent in the (so I hear) exciting city of New Orleans, Louisianna. You can rest assured, that when I return, I'll be back!

Guess who?
I was worried about whether you'd be back when you returned. Now I'm *much* more relaxed about the whole situation. And please don't expect me to make sense at this point, either.

Well, I could have given up h2g2 for Lent if it would only deprive me... but think of all the people who expect to hear from me? Think of all the people who would have to go without virtual coffee in my virtual café, throwing them into virtual cafine withdrawl! Think about the ghosts who haunt my page and would feel all lonely without me? ::sigh::
It's good to be back, now that I've returned! Someone's been fiddling with the front page, I see. DNA has made another of his rare posts. I'll bet a trip to your poetry page would reveal something new, too...
You know, I was reading a book for my English Composition class (funny how I do more reading than composing in that class) by an English author, and guess what? Thanks to you I knew what she meant when she said that one character was slagging another character off!

I don't remeber if theres a new one since you last saw it but I'm about to add one now, slow connection permitting, naturally.
I'm glad that your english slang tutorial has been of use
and I'm also glad you're back, too.

I'll be by some time today (my day, not yours). By the way, if you did not give up haunting my journal for Lent, what, if anything, did you give up for Lent?
Personally I (though I'm not Catholic) gave up profanity, Pizza, and skipping classes. So far, I've done a little swearing (though I'd like to give that up altogether) and I missed one or two classes (but I swear I was doing work for another class at the time!). But I haven't touched pizza!

I've not given anything up, although I do go to Church (but am not Catholic).... I've added a poem, btw.
I've managed to miss lots of lectures this week... Uncharacteristically, for me, anyway, usually I like to take the moral highground and go to them all...
Good luck for giving things up

Thanks! I'll jump over to your page now. I see that you've added a † to your name. Does this mean you've joined the H2G2 Christians club? I haven't joined myself. I wasn't sure I completely agreed with everything on the page when I first looked at it. I think that perhaps it was an issue of semantics that I disagreed with more than anything.

No... I just added it for the sake of it. But I'm bored with it, and it will probably be going soon.

I've had a bit of "Joanna of the Variable extensions" this week,...... because of work on Wed, I was working.... but with an H2G2 window open to keep me sane... thinking about it this afternoon I realise I worked from 9 am 'till 1 am, with a 2 hour lecture break and no food... I was Joanna (who is writing her lab report. She is NOT here) then...

Hehe. The longest I ever got was "Irving Washington, ACE"
~Irving

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 20, 2000
PS-- I've thought about shortening it to just "Irving" and after people got used to that, simply "Irv", to kind of go against the current trend of longer and longer names. However, I realized that the only reason I used "Irving Washington" was as a literary refference to Catch-22, and that shortening it to anything would make my nickname void of all purpose.

Good point...
Hopefully soon it will be Joanna ACE... I occasionally get bored, but I like having a short nick... Perhaps I'll be Joanna (Princess of Darkness) for a little while... what do you think?
Spring Break!
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 20, 2000
Ooh, spooky! I like it. I've never had a princess haunting my journal before, let alone a Princess of Darkness!

From the Tia Maria advertisements... since thats my favourite drink.
I don't know if you've seen any...
But inasmuch as I'm descended from the Kings of Ireland, I could almost be a Princess...

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 20, 2000
I'm afraid I haven't seen any Tia Maria adverts. I assume it's alchoholic?
So... how directly are you descended from the Kings of Irelnad?
~Irving

J'au-æmne Posted Mar 20, 2000
It is, and I didn't expect you would have...
Only indirectly, I'm afraid... very indirectly...
but my Irish Ancestors have 8 ruined castles...

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 21, 2000
Okay, so, let me see if I remember. You're mostly half Irish, and half... *tries to remember* Nicuraguan? Is that right? Or am I way off...

She's part Nigerian. Mainly English... but her Irish ancestry is responsible for her surname.

I'm very bad at geography. Nigeria is in Africa, right? (Irving it trying to keep his head on straight)
Hi Leazes, good to see you around
