I like him too. And The Beatles, Paul McCartney/Wings, Queen, Police, Dylan, and a flipping really long long list of great artists.
The thing I think that annoys me most is people who slagg them off, or simply get the words and/or tune to one of their song wrong. I can get very defensive.

By the way, all awesome bands I grew up to be a flower child, thanks to my dad.
What I really hate is people calling them all druggies (I once had someone claim "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" was "a druggie singing about drugs"! I nearly killed him (except he doesn't live near me, and is one of my friend's dads).

I hate that sort of thing too!!
I remember a group of us being asked for suggestions for a sing-along thing. When I suggested "Yellow Submarine" I was told no, coz it was about drugs. Since when? Sure the Beatles wewre experimenting a bit at that time, but I know of no reference to drugs in any of their songs.
