This one will test out the h2g2 community.

A guy from out of town in a local Chinese restaurant saw a silk picture of two cranes on the wall, and said to the owner, "You know, that thing looks really old. You should have it valued." The owner bought it from a second-hand store, and knows nothing about it, so he takes it to be valued and is told that it could be 400 years old, but here in Hicksville - Australia nobody is likely to know anything about it.

Anyway, the artist's signature translates to 'Yat Fong' (probably), and if anybody out there knows anything about him (I can't find anything on the net) it would probably mean some free honey king prawns for me. At least.

I could scan a picture and put it up on a User Page too, when I get time.
