h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I got the lovely Mrs X and our two girls each a long-stemmed chocolate chip cookie flower from a bakery in Hershey.

They make these cookies special for Valentine's Day and I've never missed a year since the wife and I were dating (even when she lived in Philadelphia!).

We also gave the girls a box of candy and a little stuffed animal. The wife received a set of flannel pajamas (not exciting, but practical they were what she wanted without asking for them).

And me? I got nuthin.

Nuthin'?! You poor thing!


I stood in line at Miesse's candy shop to buy Lord Scott his favorites - dark chocolate covered cherries and dark chocolate raspberry jellies.



I'd checked all the usual places I tend to find dark chocolate covered cherries with no luck (Must be *dark* chocolate, not milk!), and finally remembered that little candy shop at Lancaster Center. I should have gone to buy them a week earlier though, the crowd was a little unbelievable in that place - and this was 3 days before Valentines day! Can you imagine the madhouse it would have been on the day of?

On Valentine's Day it would have been full of men!

The day I was in there, I think there might have been 2 men in the place, and one guy was with his wife.
