"Well, for one thing he is dead. Yesterday afternoon he stepped down from his perch.
He was a bright yellow parakeet nearly ten years old. In fact the oldest of the birds we have. He was the one to start the singing. Most times they just squeeck, but Cheese made them 'sing' 
wonderfull whistle sounds ."
