I haven't been around onsite much for a few days, because I've been working on three different things which have taken up a huge amount of my time.
There's been my first issue as Post Editor.
There's been all the loose ends that needed tidying up with the Beeblecast, and all the articles I had to write about who did what and where we go from here. It's live, incidentally, and you can view it from the Post pages.
Finally, there's been...
Well, I won't tell you about the last one.
You'll have to read The Post to find out
(Yes, I'm after a circulation boost. So what?)
I hope you enjoy them all. As friends of mine, I reckon you deserve them

Okay, I'll bite.
What's 'The Post'?

That "third thing" is incredible Well done to both of you for that. I've added it to my RSS Reader.
I'm working on an entry that may lend itself to a fairly easy AViating, incidentally. We'll see if I finish it.

You serious, Gosho? If so, <./>ThePost</.> - if not, consider me done like a kipper
Pretty good, isn't it, J? I'm glad I stayed up to see the first reaction now. Mind, if you hadn't replied, I could've been here for a few hours yet...
I reckon the previous idea was a very good one for Aviating. It would be so much easier with audio than full AV, of course.

Yes, it is. I won't worry you about that now though. Take a few hours to rest on your laurels. Not too long, now - I'm not sure how h2g2 would keep going without you, Rich.

It's 4am, and I am indeed a kipper. Right in front of me mates, too. Thanks, Dad
I think my laurels are calling, J. I did want to see at least a couple of reactions, though, so I'll sleep on them very easily now. To be honest, I was quite nervous about how it would be received, so I would have sat here for a while yet...
And don't worry - I'll be back tomorrow. Well, maybe

Rich - and there was only one small ? missing in one of the links.
Hope you slept well. I woke up at about 1.30am and guess what I did: I got up and switched the PC on to have a look. To my disappointment, I was too early, nothing was uploaded then.
But it's all there now, and it's fantastic.

Isn't it typical that hootoo's gone slow just now?
I really hope hootoo will recover from the current 'server too busy' messages soon.

The third thing. Wow. I'm staggered. There's pioneering, there's revolutionary, and then there's Skankyrich... Amazing work.

I am interested about just how the Beeblecast works. Software and hardware needed, that sort of thing.
Is there somewhere I can find all that out?

You mean to produce the clips? Only software I got is audacity (free ware) and windows movie maker - which comes with Windows XP professional.
Furthermore I've got headphones for the voice-overs, and a digital camera for photos.

Congratulations looks fantastic.
Who knows what will come of this with some of these things now appearing on TV. Perhaps you'll make a brand new set of presenters. Maybe you've found me a job.
Well done and here's to many more great issues of

I can cook that fast, Venus, but only if Mu Beta has written the recipes
Psycorp, you can use a few things to Aviate. You can narrate with just a microphone plugged into the back of your PC, and we're on the look-out for people who can do this to help to work on audio clips. For filming, you can use anything from a mobile phone, a digital camera with mpeg facility to a camcorder.
It has been suggested by the group that I should write something explaining how I make clips. If it's going to be useful, I might write something up for a future issue of The Post. Anyone who is keen on doing any of the above is very welcome!

Might ask my hardware procurement guy to see what he can find on the cheap, as my camera uses something called "film" and my microphone stopped working in 1998.
