after a week in the writers workshop, and no interest, I've decided to stick it in the peer review.

This is a great entry. The only comment I would make is that it would benefit from sub headers/subheaders to break up the flow a bit. One paragraph tends to run very much into the other.
Apart from that,

Yup, breaking it up into sections would make it much better
There's an edited entry about the 110 Defender here A1109648 that you could link to.
"It’s crossed desserts to bring food to starving people"
I'm getting a picture here of very angry puddings - I think you mean 'deserts'.
There were a few other typos I saw in there but I don't have time to re-read it right now - someone else will find them or I'll come back to the entry, one or the other.

point taken, i'm trying to get to grips with guideML, but it dosen't seem to work for me (why cant they make it easier to beginners?) so i dont know how to stick links in yet, or stick in titles etc.
I did it on Word (hoping the spell checker would pull it right for me,) how wrong could one man be??????
I saw the 110 link, i'm planning another couple of entrys on the other landrover marques (range rover, disco, defender, military stuff etc.)

Corrected the desserts/deserts typo......
I'm sure there are loads of typo's in there, in school I was a bit of an underacheiver in english lessons (so I'm paying for it now)
If anyone sees any other spelling mistakes/grammer errors, then I'll do my best to correct them

I did notice also that sometimes you call then Land Rovers and sometimes Landrovers. Let's decide on one of them and use it throughout.
Worth mentioning the Forward Control Land Rovers?

Good point will sort out Land rover/Land rover thing
I'm currently working on another entry on other members of the Land rover family, Forward controls & Lightweights will be in there, though Range Rovers will probably get a separate entry.

Hi EvilTwin,
I always wanted a Land Rover, LWB, with a safari roof
The first mention of 4WD was half way through the entry. (Or did I miss something?) Were they 4WD from day one?
Is it worth mentioning some of the types? Canvas tops, hard tops. I think a lot of the pieces come off - like the side screens and roof I suppose.

I mentioned the 4x4 element of Land Rovers in the first line.
However, I've included some details of the 4wd mechanism on the series one. I'm trying to maintain a balance between giving factual information, and getting too technical. This is the reason I haven't gone into drive trains too much, otherwise the entry could end up a lot longer with mentions of all the types of gearboxes, transfer boxes and differentials, as well as the differences in gear ratio's on each type (the list would be quite long)
The general upshot of this, means that some areas are just a general overview (fascinating as they may be, the differences between a 3 & 5 main bearing 2.25 petrol engine are just a bit too in-depth)
As for different roofs etc, for most Land Rover owners, they are interchangeable parts that are swapped arround depending on the owners requirements, in much the same way as wheels and tyres will be swapped to suit different tasks. Therefore I didn't feel that it was of any importance to go into this area, particularly when you consider the current length of the entry.
It is true parts can be removed, almost any part can be removed, swapped, or changed on a Land Rover (its sad but a Land Rover can be worth more, when stripped and sold for parts). In summer, some owners dont just go topless, they pull the doors and the windscreen off as well, its perfectly legal, and good fun (if you dont mind bugs stuck to your teeth).....

Hi EvilTwin,
Sorry - I must have skimmed over that first 4x4 mention. I suppose it was because only "engine, gearbox and back axle" were mentioned in the second paragraph. But I take your point about the entry getting too long/deep.
Did Rover develop all those parts (front axle, transfer box, etc.) themselves then?
I drive my Morgan (A563654) without side screens and windscreen too

yeah, they used the jeep as a guide to the prototype design, but pretty much everything is land rover specific, but the series 2/3 stuff is reasonabily interchangable....

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
