Herring and boiled new potatoes with butter, and a glass of cold buttermilk. Perfect!
This is one of those seasonal dinners. You could probably buy all the ingredients all year round, but herring and boiled potatoes in November wouldn't be all that appealing.
Roses in bloom, orange lillies flowering, tennis, streets smelling like barbecues, county football, the smell of cut grass and privet, and herring and boiled new potatoes with butter.
