I'm leaving town for the rest of the day and going somewhere quiet in the country.

This place is full of cops, sirens, politicians and helicopters, and it's starting to get me down. Noisy shites the lot of them.

how long are they staying?

Well, Barack's been and gone and patronised us and told us we're all beacons of hope and all that tripe, so I think the worst of it's over.

I think they've all helicoptered out west now to interfere with farmers.

I wonder...

Would a Fermanagh farmer swallow a rumour that putting David Cameron in a wicker man would make the spuds grow better?

Now the circus caravan is gone, Mondays aren't that bad.

Thanks in part to a delicious fillet steak for dinner (with a lovely crust of chilli and black pepper), and even more delicious potatoes that I couldn't stop eating after I had one.

I think it's nap time. And after that, an evening of wine, old vinyl, riveting talk. And whatnot.

Mondays are great if you don't let them away with their oul' nonsense.
