This is shaping up to be an intense and hectic two weeks. It's slowly dawning on me that I'll only be able to manage it by applying the crazy rules of quantum mechanics to my own personage, to let me be in many places at once.
For a start, three job interviews. Two in opposite ends of England, the third in the far north of Scotland. Then, three training courses I need to go on. Also, another foray into hospital - this, hopefully, won't mean staying in, at least. Then, at least three...no, four...meetings to organise a strike, and lots of running around trying to organise pickets. And briefing people so they at least have a nodding acquaintance with relevant laws - if they choose to ignore them I'd prefer they knew they were doing it, at least. smiley - laugh And lots of running about which I'll have to squeeze in between.

Concert next week to go to, too - which I might need to skip. But I'm loathe to, as it's going to be the only piece of "purely-for-fun" I'll get a chance to squeeze in.

On top of that little list, there's also w*rk as normal to do every day. And it'd be nice to get a chance to eat and sleep once or twice. <huh?

Anyone know what the easiest way is to clone myself? I'm not sure how I'm going to engineer all this otherwise. Still. It should get the blood pumping! smiley - magic

You can call me TC

Is there no chance you could take a half-day off work or something to get your breath back? Grandmother's funeral or something? Or - more like the truth - just feeling off colour? OTOH, if it is known you are organising strikes, that might not look good. smiley - shrug

psychocandy-moderation team leader

I feel your pain. smiley - hug I'm having to do overtime just to keep up with my regular workload and *every* time someone takes time off, my boss makes me cover for them, too. If it keeps up like this beyond the end of the year, I am going to have to call the agency I worked with in the spring back and beg them to find me something else. Even if it means an even bigger pay cut. smiley - wah

Good luck with your interviews. Not that you won't wow 'em, but I just hope something good comes out of them.

Actually...it won't be that bad. Having reminded myself what century I live in, I decided there's no need to be physically present for *every*thing. smiley - laugh So I got quite a bit accomplished today via phone, email, and twittery facebooky things. One or two face to face meetings for union schtuff might be a good idea, but I'll manage somehow!

I managed to finagle some time off for the training courses too. So it's all looking decidedly manageable now. smiley - zen

Mrs Zen

If you'd like to pause overnight in Embra, then there are internet wierdos with a spare bed happy to be visited. smiley - smiley

smiley - cool Thanks for the offer - I'm going to sit down tomorrow and plan things out properly, so I'll be able to tell you then! smiley - smiley

In principle I'd love to if I can, though. I think I may have already threatened the good Doctor with a potential visit sometime vague in the future! smiley - evilgrin

Embra is a non-goer this time round. The job in Scotland was the one I really wanted, but I am pretty sure I didn't get it. I appreciate it though! smiley - ok

And Embra would have been a day or two of a detour south too smiley - laugh

...Meanwhile, bus and train drivers have voted 80% in favour of going on strike. Which should make it even harder to scab, too. smiley - coolsmiley - boing
