Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums Started conversation Oct 5, 2004
I figure it's been a while since I last wrote a journal entry and it's lunchbreak so I'll write all I can before the bell goes (which could be any time now).
I'm back at school after my spring break and tired for no reason at all. I thought the holidays were supposed to help you relax, but I think I was more tired after I came back than when I went. Oh well, tirednesss has a habit of going away, and at least I'm not sitting at home by myself for indefinite periods of time now. Not I get to sit in front of a computer for indefinite periods of time, trying to write essays and getting distracted by the marvel that is the Internet.
I bought a book yesterday - "The Poison Master" by Liz Williams. Sounds interesting so far, but I've only read twenty or so pages. My friend, who spent her holidays in America, came back with all this stuff, so we spend a few hours pigging out on Tootsie Rolls and Reese's peanut butter cups - stuff I'd never eaten until then because you can't get it here in Australia.
The Princess Diaries 2 is a really bad movie - if you haven't seen it yet, don't. It's honestly not worth your money. I didn't want to see it anyway, but my sisters decided on it. Oh well.
I'm boring you now, I can tell. Better go

No. we don't get Reeses, nor most of your other American candy. We don't even celebrate Halloween. That's okay, I don't miss it because I've never done it, but I hear it's a blast. The only Hershey's stuff we get over here is the Hershey's Kisses, which I love...

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatith be thy crime! No tootsie rolls?! My cousins don't get them in england either. So every time she visits we go out and buy a huge jumbo back of tutsie pops and tootsie rolls. Then we pig out on them, watching bad american cartoons on the lazy boy sofa. Ahhh... the joys of being american! They throw parties and stuff on Halloween there, but they don't dress up or go trick-or-treating! GASP! I know! horrible isn't it. They love it when they come here for halloween, because they get to wear funni outfits and eat sugar!
If you ever come here Midnight, your welcome to come during Halloween and meet my cousins. We can go to a good party, make good costumes (I don't like the corny ones from the shop. I make mine) and eat tootsie rolls! It will be a blast!!!!!

*grins sheepishly* I just ate a whole packet of Crispy M&Ms... they're my favourite kind. I think Mum gave them to me for my birthday (which is tomorrow - yay!). My folks made me come home for the weekend, but I can handle it. Back to school on Monday, though
Fred, if I'm ever in your area around the end of October, I'll drop by and say hi. Halloween sounds fun, but the closest we get to it here is watching American Halloween flicks
I'm happy the Indians won homecoming, 42 - we don't really have anything like that in Australia either. (I know you're talking about school sport, right?) The main sport here is Aussie Rules (which is our version of football) and the Grand Final was held at the end of September. My team, the Kangaroos, weren't playing - they've gone downhill a bit, I think. The Port Adelaide team won this year for the first time ever in the history of football - well, that'll keep the South Australians happy

Swimming with the manatees is nothing. I swim with them evey time we take our boat out. I got to SLEEP with the mantees!
It was with the girl scouts! We went to Sea world and spent the night. Got to dao all sorts of extra stuff. We were gonna sleep with the polar bears, but the manatees are cooler.

Thanks, you two!
Being fifteen is just the same as being fourteen, except that now I'll legally allowed to watch scary movies without an adult accompanying me (yeah, I know I did anyway before, but now I'm legally allowed to do it). Oh, and I have to use a concession card on public trasport because I'm not classified as a child any more. Oh well, at least I can still buy concession Metcards with my concession card
I got the most money I've ever gotten for a birthday ($65 ... hehehe, not much when you think about it). Apparently I am becoming a hard person to buy stuff for. Although I did get a really fancy pen from my grandmother and this really really cute stuffed toy cow from Jakarta from my roomies (I'll post a link to a photo of it here when I get around to taking one). And some money from my best freind to buy the new Lemony Snicket book (I love that series!). My parents got me a backpack and my uncle got me some incense. That's all (so far...)
And today's my favourite day (subject wise)...
I'm feeling pretty happy today

wow 42, I always knew it as 1 vodka, 2 vodka, 3 vodka, floor. lol but it's basicly the same I guess.
Any way, I'm glad you had a good b-day midnight. I thought Bubbles was dead a few minutes ago! I turned around (his tank desperatly needed cleaining) and he was on his side, floating, and not moving.
I just cept thinking, "oh crap. oh crap. oh crap." So I went over and tapped the tank. He stired a bit. So I ran to the kitchen and cleaned his tank. He seems well now. i'm hoping it was just his way of getting my attention to clean his tank. I hope he's not sick. He really is getting old now though. Every day, I wake up and check he's ok. I'm worried about when he might go. He's even got spider veins. His scales are very pale now, and some are chiped and missing. He swims with more of a hobble now (his missing fin doesn't help of course) and his nose and tale have red spider veins all over.
But hopefully he'll make it. i love my gold fish, and don't know what I'll do if he ever left. Pray for him or what ever... lets hope he's not sick.

That happened to one of my goldifsh once. He lived for ages afterwards, though, so you shouldn't worry too much about Bubbles. Another one of my goldfish, though - one of those werid black ones with pop-out eyes - got stuck inside an ornamental shell in the tank, and he was never the same after we got him out - he always swam lopsided and he didn't live for very long. Make sure there are no ornaments in the tank for Bubbles to get stuck in, okay?

don't worry they're arn't. there's just rocks, a dice, a big flat rock, a rock that looks like a teddy bear, and a floating glass octipuss named "squidd"
bubbles is well now... or at leat he looks it. we're getting more fish this weekend. for my science fair experiment. the topic is, "does the temperatur of water effect the colour of fish?"
their guppies though... so we're keeping them far far away from poor tramatized bubbles and his missing fin.
