It was always my interntion for JAWBONE to be a kind of metaphorical 'soft play area' for anyone left feeling a little 'confused' by the results of recent competitions.
I realise mow that all we are really doing is demeaning the efforts of all those writers who have striven to provide their best work to these competitions in a spirit of fair play and a willingness to share their muse with others for mutual enjoyment.
It is with this in mind that I have to draw JAWBONE to a close.
Thanks to all those who entered - you're all winners in my book*.
Good luck
Weaver

I changed my mind a little.
Gentlyunhinged is hereby declared the winner of JAWBONE. WooT!
Please leave the title of the work you'd like me to review in this thread
Second Prize goes to Enigmatic1, but don't expect me to tell you why.

Shouldn't you disqualify the winner on the grounds his story sounds uncannily like Professor Zoidberg from Futurama getting all excited?
Perhaps Gently IS Zoidberg!

Two, give me two (Saturday Night Fever reference). Surely I should get some extra points for obscurity?

Ah, look at this. You go to all the trouble of organising a great, fun competition and all you get is people moaning 'cos they don't agree with your judging decisions.
I don't know why I bother...

I'm second because of all the apey goodness, that's why!

I dunno, I can't even win a comp where the objective is to write badly.
Hang on - that's a good thing, isn't it?

I don't like this new look/structure, I must say. What was wrong with the old look?

Change for the sake of change. Just like when my mum starts re-arranging furniture for no good reason.

Where's your sense of adventure - delight in exploring the unknown, who knows what marvels you might be the first to uncover - and the new colours are very pretty, I can almost smell the lavender

Have a look at this week's picture flash challenge - the picture's called Enigma - do we think Enig is one of the models?
