h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've decided to 'Elvis'.

Those who know me the best will know that this is not a sudden decision but it something I've been considering for some months.
Apart from a number of things that irritate me, I also feel that I spend too long on the site at the expense of other things that I could/should be doing.

I can't believe such a valuable member of the community is leaving. You will be much missed. I hope you will reconsider after a break, and perhaps ration your time on here in future.

Please don't disappear completely, I need someone to pick up on my errors regarding chemicals etc. and anyway your input on all things is interesting.

Just managed, after much hassle, to find my way back. I 'retired' from regular teaching last August, but still need (financially) to do a year of day-to-day Supply teaching. However, this has the advantage of freeing up a considerable amount of time, due to no lesson preparation or marking. So, you may see me starting to post again
