Have had a few shitty days recently, the most recent being Saturday when a normally placid horse (Fergus) decided to play up big time while I was riding him bareback. First of all he was just resisting doing as he was told, and then when another, riderless, horse took off at a gallop he decided to follow. This was all good, I was just letting him run himself out, but then the two of them got spooked by a couple of other riderless horses who they didn't really know & he took me on a wild gallop through some trees. Now I managed to get under the first tree, but as he steered me towards the next one I new there was no way I was going to get under it, I tried to steer him out, but of course he wasn't listening, so I ended up getting wrenched from his back by the branches of the tree & now have an extremely bruised & battered left side. So much so that I can't even sleep on that side. & guess which side I normally sleep on!?!?!
Won't stop me getting back on a horse again though. It's the second time I've had a bad fall in 5 months (in fact it was 5 months to the day) and I still keep going. Must be totally mad, but who cares, I just love riding! Might insist on a saddle next time though.

I told you you should have kicked Fergus in the shins for me.
btw, just so you know, H2G2 is consumer-moderated... which means if anyone takes offence at you saying things like 'shitty' then your entry can be completely removed. It's not much of an issue when you're posting your own journal entry, but if you're posting to a public conversation it's helpful to use the < bleep > smiley instead. See?
Bldy bleep smiley. It's so large and bldy yellow it scares the outta me.
Or if you're feeling quieter, just try good old-fashioned asterisks - the f***en things.
Mmmwah!
