Hi Caricature,

Just read Changing (the End). I read In Slow Motion as few weeks ago.

Really enjoyed Changing. The last coupla lines are gonna make most people move on to chapter two. A great hook. Changing reminded me of In Slow Motion (I meant to post on that - it reminded me quite vividly of terrifying childhood dreams about Mutally Assured Destruction - but I seem to recall that my mobile went off like some kind of 3 minute warning!).

So, the connection I sensed between the two pieces (and the reference to Isaac Asimov) made me you have the beginnings of a very interesting and original novel.

Members may jump on me for saying this but I am not talking about members of Get Writing (who in my experience are completely and overwhelmingly supportive and encouraging). But anyway...here goes: remember that this site is accessible to everyone. I've already seen postings from members whose work has been published without their consent. If that happens, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that people outside our little community might trawl the site for ideas. So if you have the bones of an original work, don't give too much away.

I'm really sorry if you think this advice is in anyway patronising. And you might think that my wariness reflects badly on me. But you obviously have great talent - I, for one, would hate to see you get stiffed.

Friday I'm Love is a great tune.

n.

Thanks nanami

Thanks, nanami, and i can see what you mean about the risk of peoples' ideas being, *ahem*, borrowed by the wider world. I don't like to be paranoid, but i have heard that it happens, and it's not a nice thought... not really so sure what i can do about it, though. I'll be wary, and i don't think you're patronising; i've heard of it happening, and it really annoyed me, but i live in hope that no-one will steal from me and fear that i'm not good enough to be stolen from.

When you started talking about 'In Slow Motion' i didn't realise what you were talking about for awhile, but then i twigged that i'd written 'in slow-motion the blast is beautiful' and i can see your point; although i seem to be writing rather a lot about the end of the world...

As it is, i'm going to keep working on this; i'm not sure if i can maintain the tone, but i think it worked quite well, and i'm pleased you enjoyed it. I was pondering having two contrasting voices; do you think that a voice like this would become overwhelming with time?

And, yes, Friday i'm in love IS a great tune. It's the best way to end a miserable day or week and the best way to raise a smile. So happy!

Smile, smiley - biggrin and thanks for your comments,

CARICATURE smiley - clown
