OK, next question.

J D Salinger's 'The Catcher in the Rye' was published first in serial form, and later published as a book.

What year was the serial first published, and what year was it first published as a complete novel?

Are you sure it was serialised? I know it was based on several short stories written previously but Jerome Salinger's official bibligraphy makes not mention of it being published in serial form. The official firt date of publication is 1951. The earliest Holden Caulfield story that I can find reference to, 'Last Day of the Last Furlough' was published in 1944

Ok, since I'm not *sure* that it was serialised, I'll give it to you. The source that I have says it was serialised 1945-6, and you were right in saying that the book was published 1951. So, over to you. smiley - smiley

Ah, that's probably the short stories as they were published around then, like I'm Crazy, which went on to become one or two chapters in the book.

Ok, question...smiley - erm...ok I've got one. By what names are the Incom T-65, the Incom T-47 and Incom/Subpro Z-95 better known?

Actually it wasn't a particularly good guess, not when you consider that the Incom T-65 is probably the most famous thing of it's type. However it should be got quite quickly once the geeks arive

I recognized the first and third ones cause I'm a huge nerd and I read the Expanded Universe. The middle one required some nerd research.

Anywho, my question and peanut butter jelly time.

In the first season of Red Dwarf, what were the complete set of strange symptoms Lister suffered as a result of an exposure to highly evolved germs in the officer quarters?

Kenton Crisp - Founder of the League of the Underground

It was a sort of space penumonia. Fever, sweating, generally not feeling well, and hallucinations that became "solid" (Confidence and Paranoia). He also dreamt of herring raining from the sky and the mayor of Warsaw spontaneously combusting.

When asked about how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, how did Yoda reply?
