Astronomy a.k.a. Why My Sister Rocks!
Animbus Started conversation Mar 28, 2004
So my sister glanced at a constellation map for the Northern Hemisphere, and asked which ones were the three bears...
I found that so absurdly charming (and she's 29!) that I had to do something about it.

Totally made my day.

I would have asked the same - if I knew there were supposed til be three bears.
Have a look at this:

I am only able to recognise seven of the stars in ursa major - they are called "Karlsvognen" in Danish - (litterally translated: Karl's waggon) or in English: Charles's Wain. Oldnordisk (Norse?): kvennavagn (women's waggon/wain)- The Little Bear (All informations sponsored by my dictionary)
I want to ask you about something completely different. Where would I do that?

Why, here would be as good a place as any, I believe!
Now you've got me thinking - I'm sure I came across something to do with Ursa Major in my book of Old Norse.. but I have no idea where!

To explain:
I'm a freelance journalist and partake in a network for Danish freelancers.
All sorts of topics are asked and discussed in this dialogue between collegues who mostly work alone at home or in small grups with other freelancers with each their business to mind.
Today one of the freelancers asked if it was possible to get her some contacts in New Zealand.
She is partaking in WIFT - women in film and television-festival in the end of April. And as she is actually on the other side of the Earth (she says) she would like to grab the opportunity to do other stories.
So I was thinking of you. May I 'offer' you as a contact? And if "yes" - how will she contact you? You can mail me at [email protected] if you prefer.

Hah! I used to belong to the WIFT group here! (But it mostly seemed geared to every other aspect of film and tv except effects and animation (my industry) , so I haven't been on their books for a year or so.)
I will send you an email shortly.
