People have definitely been running and walking on the canal. I saw one kid hop the fence and run down, and there are loads of other tracks. I tool some photos, Terri.

"So is all this snow and ice exciting for you Brits?"
I think most people find 'out of the ordinary' situations exciting at some level. I'm one of the few people 'round these parts who doesn't moan when the weather is hotter/colder/drier/wetter than normal. And I think extreme weather is
Would hate to live in a country where it was hot all the time and never snowed. How boooring!

Wellllll...we're not really talking weather *extremes* here - but yes, I think it's beautiful. Weather and seasons, and the changing of seasons, are things that fascinate me in a way I can't really put into words.

Yes; i missed that when living in Pakistan & *demanded* to be taken to see snow, which i hadn't seen in 12 years ffor a Christmas present!
So we crawled up a perilous mountain, into kasmir border region; i spotted snow at last, we ended up throwing atop white horses with henna'd tails looking at K2: amazing!
TRiG is here now in Eyerish snow, doing computery stuff with P, watch out for new & zendevilish websites!

We've had a fox in the garden the last two nights.
Seen her (?) once before, coming back in late at night she was there then, but now two nights running.
Not sure exactly where she is living or how she is getting in.
