BBC - Public Service Message
Sorry, the address you are looking for is not available.
You will find almost all BBC public service content on http://www.bbc.co.uk/ and by following links to the content you require.
To access specific areas directly you can type the address in the format: http://www.bbc.co.uk/'service or programme title'
e.g. The Radio 1, BBC One and BBC Weather websites can be found at the following addresses:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/
Alternatively you can search bbc.co.uk
Also, http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2007/10/adverts_on_bbccom_1.html
International users of the BBC website will get ads. Will that affect h2g2? Probably not, he suggests that BBC.com will contain mainly news content. Presumably international users will be redirected to http://bbc.com from http://news.bbc.com or from http://bbcnews.com.

Indeed, but if they want to keep the news.bbc.co.uk page for UK viewers only, they'll have to detect non-UK visitors, and redirect them to equivalent pages on the bbc.com website, which will presumably contain the same content, plus ads.
Websites can tell where in the world you are. F19585?thread=4692541.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Sep 30, 2009
At the moment, if I watch video items on the BBC News page, there is an ad at the start, then the news report. I'm in Ireland, so I get ads targeted at Ireland, such as an ad for Bank of Ireland.

Irritating. I've heard people say that they even dub ads with local-ish accents, and it's noticed if you flick between some of the channels that show the different versions. Haven't noticed myself though.
